How to prepare for a photo shoot. What is the ideal clothing and the best colors to wear for a shooting?
Preparing for a photoshoot is a very important step to get staining photos. The result depends a lot on your choice of clothes, shoes and accessories. Of course, the most important thing is to be yourself, but there are some general guidelines to get perfect photos.
So here’s the guide of your outfit for a shoot with me.
- It is better to choose plain clothes made from natural fabrics and natural shades (see the palette below).
- Choose 2-3 colors for shooting maximum.
- If it’s a couple or family photoshoot, your colors should match.
- Long feminine dresses and sundresses are always preferable for women
Than there are 3 main ways to dress for a photoshoot::
- 1 WAY : Opt for pastel soft colors. The ideal colors are gray, beige, chocolate, white.
- 2 WAY: Choose one « strong » color in your clothes (for example, red, yellow or blue) and complete it with classic “soft colors”: beige, gray, chocolate or white.
- 3 WAY: Choose two « strong » colors (ideally red-green or blue-yellow), and complete the rest of your look by the basic colors, gray-white or brown-beige.
PALETTE OF COLOR COMBINATIONS FOR A SHOOTING
The most advantageous colors for a photo shoot:
- All shades of gray.
- All shades of brown.
- All pastel colors can be diluted with one bright color (for example, a red beret and red socks, or a yellow dress for a girl and a tie of the same color for a man).
What is NOT recommended to wear and what to avoid when choosing clothes for a photo shoot:
- NO prints (eg large prints, small stripes etc);
- Avoid using black color in clothes and especially shoes; Exception : total look black;
- Don’t bring big bags with you. Avoid to have any bag for photoshoot;
Accessories:
Each photoshoot is a story. We create together with you a beautiful story of your couple or your family so it is important to bring with you some accessories for our shooting.
What it can be:
- Flowers,
- Newspaper
- Baguette
- Сoffee in cardboard cups
- We can have a break in a Parisian coffee to make some pics there
- It can be a retro car to make beautiful photos with
